Hip, Knee or Ankle Pain
Our doctors have seen many people who experience severe hip, knee and ankle problems in our Chicago Chiropractic office. Many times this can result from an injury you sustained or simply from your body’s weight not being distributed correctly. The only way to know for sure what treatment is right for you is to schedule a consultation with one of our doctors. During your consultation, they will take the time to listen to your problems and provide their expertise on what thye feel is the right treatment for you.
If you’ve injured your hip, knee or ankle, please see our link for sprains and strains. However, if you are getting hip, knee or ankle pain that started without an injury, it is most likely being caused by your body’s weight is not being distributed properly. When this happens, the joints in your hips, knee, and ankle are not properly aligned. As a result, the joints can begin to wear unevenly resulting in pain or dysfunction.
Your weight can be unevenly distributed for one of three major reasons. The first is that your back might not be in alignment. If this happens, you can lean one way, or not move well in one direction. This causes your hips, knees, and ankles to be out of alignment when you stand, bend or move. The second reason is that you could have a problem with the arches in your feet. These are the natural curves on the bottom of your foot. If these arches change or fall, it can cause you to be off balance. Third is that you could have a leg length inequality, meaning one leg is longer than the other.
At Back Works Chiropractic, we get excellent results treating these types of pain. We focus on three things. First, we rehabilitate the affected joints. Second, we correct problems affecting the joint pain, such as the low back or the feet. Third, we evaluate your arches, and if needed will measure your feet for orthotics or for a heel lift.
