Chiropractic Manipulation/ Adjustment
This is a specific, low force thrust into a joint, designed to restore motion and alignment to the joint. This is the bread and butter of chiropractic. It has helped millions of Americans out of pain and into a healthier way of life. An adjustment first involves finding the specific spinal segments (vertebral or spinal bone) that are misaligned. A segment that is misaligned will typically be accompanied by pain, stiffness, loss of motion, muscle spasm and joint or nerve irritation. After being diagnosed, it will typically be treated with a light trust designed to realign and restore movement to that segment. This has the effect or relieving pain and stiffness, and improving function and health. Chiropractic adjustments are gentle and pain free. Multiple chiropractic adjustments over the course of a few weeks can effectively restore alignment and motion to the joint. This will restore health to the joint, muscles, and nerves, and allow the body to function properly again. It will additionally have the effect of reducing wear and degeneration on the joint.

Flexion Distraction Therapy
This is a specific type of decompression therapy designed to work with herniated or bulging discs, degenerative joint disease, arthritis, fixated or locked joints, spondylolisthesis, stenosis, and radiculopathies such as sciatica. Decompression therapy has gotten a lot of recent media attention due to its effectiveness in treating many low back conditions. It has helped many people avoid surgery, and out of chronic pain. While there are many types of decompression therapy out there, we chose this particular therapy in our office because it is more specific than other types of decompression therapy and it can be directed in multiple directions or ranges of motion. To understand the theory behind it, we must first look at the anatomy of the spine. Between every two vertebra (vertebral bones) there is a disc. This is a type of joint in which there is a gelatinous center surrounded by a fibrous ligament. When these ligaments weaken, the center of the disc can balloon out and compress the nerves of the spine leading to an array of problems. When we use flexion distraction therapy to treat this, the disc is flexed and distracted (tractioned). This creates a negative pressure inside the disc, allowing the gelatinous material inside the disc to move back toward the center of the disc, taking pressure off the nerves. These treatments are not only very effective but also non-invasive and pain free. For all of those people who don’t like that popping sound that your joints can make when you get adjusted, this generally makes no popping sound when being performed.

Myofascial Release Technique
This is a focused type of deep tissue massage, designed to release muscle tension, remove scar tissue, relieve inflammation and alleviate spasms and trigger points. It is also used to reduce muscle recovery time following an injury or a workout. The purpose of these treatments is to decrease pain and restore function as quickly as possible. It’s no wonder that the nation’s most elite athletes will regularly seek out this type of treatment. Its uses will expand well beyond this; it is often used to help general patients out of chronic pain issues. It is frequently used with shoulder problems (rotator cuff issues), neck issues, back issues, hip issues, elbow, and wrist issues.

Physiotherapy
This type of therapy is used to rehabilitate muscles and joints in situations where there has been a new injury or in situations where there are issues with chronic pain or stiffness. When used with chiropractic manipulation, the treatments can be very effective. Some of these treatments are performed with the hands while others are performed with the aid of machines. These therapies include but are not limited to Manual Traction, Stretching, Interferential Muscle Stim, Ultrasound, and mechanical traction.

Exercise Rehab Therapy
These are exercises prescribed by the doctor that are designed to strengthen, stabilize, and improve flexibility in the spine, and the surrounding joints and musculature. Some of these are performed in the office during the final phase of treatment, but a majority of these exercises are shown to the patient by the doctor to be performed at home. These help not only increase the effectiveness of the in office treatments, but they help the patient maintain any corrections that have been made, and help prevent reoccurrence of the injury.

Pelvic Blocking
This technique is used to correct lower back and sacroiliac joint issues. It is typically used to treat low back pain, hip pain, and sciatica. With this type of therapy, a patient will lie down, and blocks will be placed under their low back, sacroiliac joint or hips depending upon their condition. The treatment typically lasts about 10 minutes, during with time shortened tendons and muscles are gently and comfortably stretched into alignment using the weight of your body.

Orthotics and Supports
Foot Orthotics are custom made shoe and sneaker inserts that provide support and stability to the feet. They provide structural support to the three arches of the foot, and help maintain proper balance in the feet, knees, hips and low back. They are comfortable, flexible and designed to fit all kinds of shoes and sneekers. They are often covered under general health insurance. If you have any issues with foot, knee, hip, or low back pain, you should strongly consider being evaluated for orthotics.

Nutrional Therapy
This type of therapy involves using proper diet, vitamins, and over the counter herbs and supplements to help treat specific conditions and improve overall health. It is of particular benefit to people with poor health, poor diet, food allergies, loss of energy, high stress, headaches, and chronic pain issues. It can also be used to help reduce healing time, in acute injuries.

Massage Therapy
We provide various types of 30 and 60 minute massages including sports, deep tissue, and sweedish massage. Massage can be used to improve circulation, and reduce pain and stress.
